Improving breast cancer survival involves early detection and a range of modalities, including surgery, radiation,systemic chemotherapy, and hormonal therapies. At a symposium held March 6, 2003, during the Annual Meeting of the Society of Surgical Oncology, four experts discussed BRCA gene testing, breast conservation surgery, aromatase inhibitors for early breast disease, and accelerated radiation therapy.
