    Very informative and increased my knowledge base for the assessment and prescription of analgesics in the older person.

    Older patients often wait to long to take a pain medication. They will say the pain wasn’t that bad and they did not want to take anything before they had too. They don’t take the medication until the pain is often quite severe. Then complain that the medication didn’t work.

    older pts tend to minimize their report of pain for fear of having to be admitted to the hospital. many do not want any more medications
    most emergency docs are not comfortable medicating the elderly leading to minimal pain relief

    Very informative program–short and concise. Have found that many older patients tend to think that all pain medications are addictive. Spending some additional time to ally these fears, at times, work wonders
